Pre-Requisites

  • You must have the Compass module enabled in your license. This is managed per seat and will also need to be enabled for your user. If this module is not available, please get in touch with us at support@faddom.com.

  • Compass is hosted in Faddom’s cloud environment for processing. However, query results remain within your environment.

  • If you are hosting the database on a separate server (split installation), connect to the web server (UI/Tomcat server) via SSH and run the following command:

    sudo /etc/illuminit/configureRemoteCompass.sh <remote_ip> '<ssh_password>'

Note: Always enclose the SSH password in single quotes (' ') if it contains special characters such as !, @, or $, to ensure the shell interprets the command correctly.

  • Ensure that your workstation or browser can access: https://compass.faddom.ai

How To Access Compass

  • Click Compass AI Chat from the sidebar menu; or

  • Click the Compass AI button at the top of any screen where it's available

Using the Chat

  • Type your question or query into the chat window.

  • Compass will respond in a conversational style. It may ask for additional clarification to help refine or expand the answer.

  • Responses by Compass AI may be limited to 20 responses in the UI. To see all results, you may export the answer.

Enhanced Mode

Enabling Enhanced Mode will allow Compass AI to read the context of the current screen to provide more relevant and detailed insights to the user. This is done by giving Compass AI a screenshot of the current view only, and does not involve further screen recording or monitoring. Once enabled, you can ask Compass AI questions about the current screen, or select one of the suggested prompts.

Getting support through Compass

When Compass detects a support-related query, it will automatically open the Faddom support chat with your question to start a conversation with our support assistant.
