A Tier is a group of servers that are performing the same or similar functions using the samper-mape port or a group of ports. These can be set on a per-map basis or for every map. This allows a simple view of the map to understand your infrastructure, allowing you to clearly understand what is going on. They are being discovered based on the ports.

To see all your tiers, you go to Inventory > Tier Types. When clicking a Tier grouping, the server type list screen opens and shows the list of all servers participating in this group, based on the ports that these servers listen to. Any server that is not specifically part of a Tier will be shown in the Other grouping.

Creating or Editing A Tier

To edit a Tier, you click on the pencil icon, while clicking on the + or Add Tier buttons will allow you to create a tier. You will be shown the same screen for both. When editing the tier, you will see the name, default ports, color, and icon, which can all be changed. To create a tier, you will need to enter the details. You can see our guide [app maps guide] to see how to edit them from a map.
