Prerequisites

In order to view the software installed on a server you need to have setup the discovery. You can do this by following the guide Setting Up Software And CVE Discovery

Viewing Installed Software

  1. To see the installed software, you need to navigate to Inventory > Software
Here you will see a list of software, and it will indicate if there is a vulnerability if you approved CVE Detection/ You can click on the name of the software which will provide you with the name of the vendor, the software version, first detected date, and a full list of servers where this software is installed.

  2. You can also see these per server in the Server Properties > Software

  3. You will be presented with a full list of software on the server

Filtering Software Results

You can filter the Software Inventory list to narrow down results and find specific software packages. The filter panel on the left side of the screen provides the following options:

  • Vendor - Filter by software vendor name (e.g., "Oracle America", "Microsoft")

  • Group - Filter by software grouping or category

  • Version - Filter by specific version numbers

Each filter supports both inclusion (show only matching results) and exclusion (hide matching results from the list).

To apply filters:

  1. Click the filter icon at the top left of the software list

  2. Enter your criteria in the relevant filter fields (Vendor, Group, or Version)

  3. Click APPLY to update the results

  4. Use CLEAR ALL to remove all active filters

The list will display the number of results matching your filter criteria (e.g., "Showing 500 software records in results"). You can combine multiple filters to create more specific queries.

Note: You can also toggle Show only Unmatched CPEs to display software that hasn't been matched to the Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) database, which is useful for identifying software that may not have vulnerability data available.
