IP Group is the term used for grouping of multiple servers together, as a single entity. To view a list of your discovered IP groups, ensuring that IP Groups is selected. You can check or uncheck each data source you have and scroll down. If you uncheck everything except IP Groups you will be left with a screen similar to the below.
Faddom supports three types of IP groups.
IP Group with virtual IP
In this case, there is a single virtual IP address that is used by clients to access all IP group members. This type of IP group is most commonly defined in a Load Balancer. Faddom extracts the configuration of load balancers and automatically defines IP groups that are defined there.
IP Group without a virtual IP
This is usually either a load-balancing IP group or an active/passive cluster. In this type of IP group, there is no single front-end virtual server, but rather a group of servers, each accessed separately by the clients.
Server with multiple network interfaces
This is a single server that has multiple network interfaces with separate IP
addresses. This server should be treated as a single entity and the IP addresses of the network interfaces should be specified. Faddom automatically identifies and defines multiple network interfaces for VMware and AWS/EC2 environments.
