When running Software Discovery Faddom collects up-to-date information on the operating system. Faddom will show you which OSs are installed on your environment if an EOL or EOS date has been announced and highlight any OS that is at risk. This enables you to gather information on your installed software, CVEs, and OS to help improve and enhance your security posture.

You can also set alerts to be emailed when there is an OS that goes EOS or EOL by following our guide on Notifications and Events.

To gather this information you need to do the following -

  1. Run the Software and CVE Detection and wait for it to finish

  2. Navigate to Inventory > Operating System

  3. You will see the OSs that were detected as well as dates for EOL and EOS. If a server is EOL it will be highlighted in red

  4. You can see the servers affected by clicking on the number at the end of the row
